Zurich Airport Terminals

There are three airside piers at ZRH Airport that are called terminals E, B, and A, also named on the signs as Gates E, B/D, and A. These are all linked to the central building in the airside known as Airside Center constructed in 2003. Airport Center is the terminal complex on the ground side right next to Airside Center. 

This is composed of several buildings as well as a shopping mall, car parks, a railway station, a tram and bus terminal, and airline check-in areas.

All the departing passengers can access the Airside Center’s departure level, which includes several restaurants and bars and duty-free shopping via airport security. 

These are divided between passengers for non-Schengen and Schengen destinations headed towards the gate lounges, with the former first passing through the emigration controls.

The arriving non-Schengen and Schengen passengers are being handled in different parts of the Airside Center. They use different routes to arrive at the Airport Center. Terminal A, B, and E are the three terminals on the airside.

Tram:

The Glattalbahn tram runs between Zurich Airport and Zurich Central Station. Just take note that the route is relatively slower compared to rail.

There is a bus terminal found next to the car park P2. There are also a few regular bus lines that serve regional villages and towns.

Communication Facilities:

Zurich Airport offers Wi-Fi internet access good for two hours. There are also different points with fixed internet kiosks. These kiosks also offer the first two hours of internet access for free. The airport also has a post office and a total of 9 FASTpoint terminals that provide fax, photocopying, and telephone facilities, and a map of ZRH Airport.

Business and Conference:

Photocopying and fax facilities are offered in the service center on the 1st Floor of the car park P2. It is also possible to rent the old control tower’s upper two floors for receptions. Right now, airport Zurich International doesn’t have any conference facilities, but there are some nearby hotels that provide meeting rooms.

There are several lounges around the airport available for business-class and first-class passengers and customers of specific airlines and lounge access cardholders.

Car Parking:

The terminal is directly connected to three car parks with several floors. There is another short-term car park located further away. P60 is an open-air car park offering remote parking for the long term that connects to Zurich Airport via bus. Different companies also offer valet parking.

Disabled Facilities:

Accessible telephone booths and toilets, lifts, and ramps are available for disabled passengers. Departure halls also have special assistance desks for passengers with specific needs. There are also designated parking spaces in P3, P2, and P1 car parks for holders of disabling badge.

Car Rental:

ZRH Airport has a representation of global car hire companies such as Avis, Budget, Alamo, Europcar, Enterprise, Dollar, Sixt, National, and Hertz and some local operators. Each has its own desk found on level 1 of the Airport Center.

Shopping:

ZRH Airport is dotted with a wide variety of shops, such as duty-free outlets. There are several good places you can check out at the Airport Shopping Center located a level just above the check-in area 3. There are also numerous shopping options available on the landside such as gift shops, newsagents, and fashion boutiques.

Food:

There are many choices of restaurants, snack bars, takeaway facilities, and coffee shops found in the post- and pre-security areas of ZRH Airport. These include the sports bar located in the departure area, a restaurant of Swiss chalet-style, eateries that specialize in Asian cuisine, and an Italian restaurant.

Money:

There are different points in the airport complex that have banks that offer services for bureau de change. You can also find separate kiosks for bureaux de change.

Luggage:

The arrival’s Hall 1 houses a lost property office for the passengers who seek help and assistance with their luggage from the available porter service. Trolleys can also be used for free. The Arrivals area also has lockers where passengers can stow baggage as well as a left-luggage desk.

Other Facilities:

ZRH Airport also has a dental and medical center, pharmacies, nurseries, prayer rooms, baby buggy, and bicycle rental, and showers in the post- and pre-security.
