Since the Charles de Gaulle airport is so large and busy, there are several points through which you can enter or leave it towards the city on land. Because of that, you will also see that there are many means of transportation you can use. Most of them connect the airport with central regions of the city while others go to specific locations such as the French Disneyland and the Parc Astérix.
Paris / CDG Public transportation
Bus services can pick you at the CDG airport and leave you at handy locations. There are two special lines, one towards the Disneyland Paris and another to Parc Astérix. Besides that, a regular bus line provided by RoissyBus can take you to the city, more specifically the Opéra stop on the corner of Auber and Scribe. The latter operates from 5:15 to 00:30 with average frequency of 20 minutes.
Roissybus: Takes around 60 minutes between the airport and the Paris-Opéra stop and costs from 12,50€.
Disneyland Magical Shuttle: Takes around 45 minutes between the airport and the park entrance and costs from 23€.
Parc Astérix Shuttle: Takes around 20 minutes between the airport and the park entrance and costs from 9€.
Train services are available as well. The regular RER train has several stops at convenient locations of the city. The famous TGV train connects the airport to several networks of its own and allows you to choose your service: inOui for a premium experience at very high speed, or Ouigo for affordable fares with the same speed. It is also possible to use TGV Air, which is connected to airplane tickets.
RER B Train: Takes around 25 minutes between the airport and the Gare du Nord (many other stops available) and costs 11,40€.
TGV Air, inOui and Ouigo: Available at the airport’s terminal 2.
Paris / CDG Taxi
It is undeniable that taxis are much more comfortable and convenient than public transportation. However, that is the very reason why their market has been flooded by fake ones, with unregulated drivers who gouge prices specially to take advantage of tourists. The Paris Aéroport believes that information is the best tool you have against all that, so it has many details available on its website.
Taxis are only authorized to pick up passengers at specific stations located on the exit of the respective arrival terminal. There are several signs indicating how to reach the closest one.
Authorized cars have an illuminated sign on the roof and feature a visible meter in the cabin to show you the fare in real time – that is the amount you will have to pay when arriving.
The Paris Aéroport website has tips of how much you should expect to pay to go to specific locations by taxi. Traveling along the Seine is an exception because it has a flat rate.
An easy and simple way to avoid problems with fake taxis is to book in advance. You will have more information about the ride and the fare and there will be a person waiting for you at the airport using a sign with your name. Besides that, the company will surely give you contact information in case you need to be in touch. Some of the companies recommended by the airport are:
Alpha Taxis: Visit https://reservation.alphataxis.fr or call +33 (0)1 45 85 85 85 (in French)
G7: Visit https://g7.fr/en/ or call +33 (0)1 47 39 47 39 or 36 07 (€0.15/min)
ABC Taxis: Visit https://centraltaxi93.com or call +33 (0)1 43 83 64 00 (in French)
It is also recommendable to check the options of shuttle between terminals. They are free of charge and allow you to safely move from one terminal to another. That is particularly important in case it is your first time at the CDG airport and/or you need to rush from one flight to next connection.
